Mrs. Elizabeth R. Aldridge, till a short time ago a resident of this city died in Prescott on January 30. She was a pioneer settler in Arizona coming here in 1867 when she settled on the Agua Fria near Prescott with a former husband named John B. Townsend. Mr. Townsend who was a government scout was killed by Indians and she married Mr. Aldridge of this city. She was fifty nine years old.

Mr. Walton Townsend of New York died Thursday morning at 1 o'clock in this city of tuberculosis. His funeral was held yesterday afternoon and was attended by quite a number of friends whose acquaintance he had made since coming here. No relatives were present and his cloesest friends here were probalby Dr. A.H. Noon, member of the assembly from Santa Cruz County, and a life long friend of the young man's father and Mr. Thomas Oberle, who was drawn into terms of intimacy with him by reason of the
fact that they were both actors. Mr. Townsend was
formerly a member of the Morosco Stock Company in San Francisco.

John D. Townsend

A visitation and funeral service has been scheduled for Village of Oak Creek
resident John Townsend.
Mr. Townsend died Feb. 13.
He was 54 years old.
A visitation is scheduled for Thursday at the Westcott Funeral Home in
Cottonwood from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services are scheduled Friday in the funeral
home at 1 p.m. Burial will follow in the Sedona Community Cemetery.
Mr. Townsend was born in Fort Worth, Texas on June 18, 1945.
A resident of Arizona for five years, Mr. Townsend retired from the position
of vice-president at the Pacific Gas and Electric Company in 1995 following a
25 year career.
He was formerly the plant manager for the Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power Plant
in California.
Following his retirement, Mr. Townsend was a management consultant in the
field of nuclear power.
He was a member of the Institute of Electrical Engineers and a member of the
General Public Utilities Board for the state of New Jersey.
He was on the board of directors of the Village of Oak Creek Golf Association
and was a member of World of Grace Church.
Survivors include his wife of 14 years, Martha Townsend; a son, David
Townsend of California; a daughter-in-law, Trisha Townsend; a daughter, Shelby Bilyeu
of California; a son-in-law, Scott Bilyeu; two step-sons, Myrick Buttler of
California and Scott Buttler of Ohio; mother and step-father, Marge and Bill
Michaleck of New Mexico; a step-mother, Gladys Townsend; a sister, Jayne Guerra
of California; a grandchild, Morgan Taylor Bilyeu; two step-grandchildren,
Derek and Kyle Buttler and a niece, Arianna Guerra.
Mr. Townsend was preceded in death by his father, Charles Townsend in 1999.
