This family is Haplogroup R1b1c

 

Haplogroup R1b1c is the most common haplogroup in European populations. It is believed to have expanded throughout Europe as humans re-colonized after the last glacial maximum 10-12 thousand years ago. This lineage is also the haplogroup containing the Atlantic modal haplotype. 

 

 

Relationships

 

A common Ancestor for this family group has not been identified, but descendants include:

   a 20th century immigrant to British Columbia from Nottinghamshire, England

   a descendant from Shelburne Co., Nova Scotia

   descendants of John Riley Townsend 1831-1842 Arkansas, and of Henry Pickney
